Happy Holidays from the Women in the World Foundation

Dear Friend of the Women in the World Foundation,

Warmest season's greetings from the team here at the Women in the World Foundation. We’ve had an extraordinary 2012—and it’s all because of you.

In October, you touched us with your overwhelming response to the shooting of Pakistani student Malala Yousafzai—who was attacked by the Taliban because she spoke out in favor of educating girls. Our special appeal, done in partnership with Angelina Jolie, spawned over $100,000 in donations to the Malala Yousafzai Women of Impact award, which will go toward girls' education on the ground in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

That wasn’t the only success you made possible. We launched Women in the World on Campus at Barnard College, Rutgers University, and Harvard University and created an innovative data-mapping tool that tracks non-profit projects around the world called Get on the Map! for Women and Girls, which we developed in partnership with the Virtue Foundation. And in December, in São Paulo, we launched the Foundation’s first international offshoot by honoring three additional grassroots heroes with the Women of Impact Award in Brazil.

There’s lots to come in 2013. We’ll be taking our Women in the World message to more college campuses, expanding our Women of Impact initiative, and continuing to support the amazing women who are changing the world. And we're excited to announce that the fourth annual Women in the World Summit will take place in early April in New York City. Stay tuned for all the details.

It’s a lot to look forward to. And we couldn’t do it without you.
