Speaker Spotlight: Rula Jebreal – The Global Journalist
In a life that has been one challenge after another, Rula Jebreal has never failed to outpace expectations. Placed in an orphanage at age 5, this Israeli Palestinian later won a scholarship to study in Italy and became the first foreigner to anchor the 8 pm news in that country; she was also awarded Italy's top journalism prize for her work as a foreign correspondent covering the Iraq war. Her 2-million selling novel Miral was made into a movie starring Freida Pinto. Currently, she contributes to MSNBC, is a foreign policy expert for Newsweek & The Daily Beast, and has written three books. She lives in New York City.
