The mission of the Foundation is to ensure that no treatable condition shall ever be an obstacle to health. Through a combination of foundation programs and social activism, the foundation will work to guarantee that quality healthcare is available to underserved populations in the Somali and around the East Africa. Furthermore, it is the Foundation's goal to promote health and healing not only by providing quality medical and preventative care, but also by creating treatment environments that foster hope.
The Hawa Abdi village provides food, shelter, and medical care to over 90,000 refugees who have fled the fighting in Mogadishu, Somalia. There is also a school, which can currently accommodate 850 of the camp’s 27,000 children, with classes for children aged 7 to 18. In other words, we have built an island of hope in a sea of violence, and we need your help to keep it alive.
