Rumeysa Gelgi, as affirmed by Guinness World Records is the tallest woman in the world. 215.16 centimeters (7 feet, 0.7 inches) tall Rumeysa Gelgi is a 24 years old woman residing in the Karabük province of Turkey, who has been entitled as the tallest woman in the world since October 2021. Earlier in 2014, when she was 18 years old, Guinness World Records crowned her as the tallest female teenager living. Hoping to galvanize and encourage individuals she confidently said, “Every disadvantage can be turned into an advantage for yourself so accept yourself for who you are, be aware of your potential and do your best.”

As one can interpret from her above saying she has an impregnable attitude and pride and inspires not only youth but also the older generation. Even the editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday stated, “It’s an honor to welcome Rumeysa back into the record books. Her indomitable spirit and pride in standing out from the crowd is an inspiration.” She also said, “The category of tallest living woman does not change hands very often, so I’m excited to share this news with the world.”

Who is Rumeysa Gelgi, the tallest woman in the world?

Rumeysa Gelgi was born on 1st January 1997 and now works as an advocate, researcher, and front-end developer. Other than her extraordinary height, Rumeysa’s hand’s length is 24.5 cm and her feet are 30.5 cm long.

Weaver’s Syndrome and overall condition have caused Rumeysa to have trouble walking like other individuals and instability. Along with suffering from some physical problems, she also faced some social distress. She was commented on by people because of her phenomenal height in her school as well as in her college. But rather than taking it negatively, she emerged as a braver person. Rumeysa Gelgi said that she has many advantages of being tall and is elated that she was crowned as the tallest woman in the world by Guinness World Records. Just like any other individual, being recognized by Guinness World Records has greatly boosted her confidence.

Rumeysa Gelgi further wants to make good use of her position and platform to bring to light rare disorders like Weaver Syndrome.

This event, of having both the tallest man and woman in the world belonging to the same country is termed “a rare occurrence” by Guinness World Records. Such event was recorded last in 2009 when these titles were held by Bao Xishun who was 236.1 centimeters (7 feet, 8.95 inches) tall and Yao Defen 233.3 centimeters (7 feet 7.85 inches) tall and they both belonged to China.

Though Rumeysa Gelgi is the tallest woman living in the world Zeng Jinlian of China, standing 8ft 1in was the tallest woman who ever lived and died in the year 1982.
